The Village Birders was founded in February 2001. In the first year our membership grew to 125 and our current membership is 245. Our mission is to promote the interest of birds and their environment. We enjoy the great outdoors, the company of fellow birders, and many hours of delight provided by our feathered friends. Formal mission statement is available here.

The club conducts walks, drives and boat trips, led by veteran birders, on an average of once a week and special events that allow us entry into areas by permit only. We have 2-hour walks up to all-day outings.

We participate in Audubon’s Christmas Bird Count and the Great Backyard Bird Count.

The club meets on the 4th Saturday of every month October – April except for December. We have a short business meeting followed by a guest speaker, seminar or educational program.

Membership dues are $5.00 per year for a single membership plus $2.00 for each additional family member. A membership form is available for printing.
