Sour Orange Cake

• 1 package yellow cake mix
• 3 oz orange Jello
• 1/3 cup milk
• 4 large eggs
• 1/2 cup oil
• 1/2 cup Sour Orange juice

Mix all ingredients.
Pour into tube or bundt pan.
Bake 1 hour at 325 degrees.
COOL.
Spread with glaze.

Sour Orange Glaze

• 1/4 cup Sour Orange juice
• 2 tablespoons melted butter
• 1 1/4 cups confectioners sugar
• Grated Sour Orange rind

Beat until smooth.

NOTES:

Get the sour oranges from any "old" grove of orange trees. Bourlay is a good source.

I freeze the juice in bags for future times when we can’t get the oranges.

The 3/4 of a cup of juice that goes into the cake and glaze requires about 3 oranges or less.

The glaze recipe above makes a lot of glaze – you could probably get by with less.
