My hat's off to those hardy birders that showed up on this nippy morn for our walk at Silver River State Park. The birds were slow to wake up but our species count for the day equaled 43, with many singing Northern Parulas (with great views) and the first spring Hermit Thrush.

Wood Duck, Pied-Billed Grebe, Double-Crested Cormorant, Anhinga, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, Little Blue Heron, Cattle Egret, White Ibis, Black Vulture, Turkey Vulture, Red-Shouldered Hawk, American Kestrel, Common Moorhen, Sandhill Crane (Lg. Flock Headed North), Ring-Billed Gull, Herring Gull, Rock Pigeon, Mourning Dove, Red-Bellied Woodpecker, Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker, Downy Woodpecker, Pileated Woodpecker, E. Phoebe, White-Eyed Vireo, American Crow, Tufted Titmouse, Ruby-Crowned Kinglet, Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher, Hermit Thrush, N. Mockingbird, N. Parula, Yellow-Rumped Warbler, Palm Warbler, Black-And White Warbler, N. Cardinal, Boat-Tailed Grackle And American Goldfinch.
