Bird walk report -Seminole State Forest

At last a good weather day and no disasters. A nine car convoy through the forest on a sunny day with 44 species accounted for. The Florida Scrub Jays were out to greet us as we drove through their special habitat of scrub oak.


Birds Seen Today:


Wild Turkey, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, Snowy Egret, Little Blue Heron, White Ibis, Black Vulture, Turkey Vulture, Osprey, Bald Eagle, Red-Tailed Hawk, Red-Shouldered Hawk, Mourning Dove, Belted Kingfisher, Red-Bellied Woodpecker, Downy Woodpecker, N. Flicker, E. Phoebe, Blue-Headed Vireo, Blue Jay, Florida Scrub-Jay, American Crow, Fish Crow, Tree Swallow, Carolina Chickadee, Ruby-Crowned Kinglet, Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher, E. Bluebird, Hermit Thrush, American Robin, N. Mockingbird, Brown Thrasher, Yellow-Rumped Warbler, Pine Warbler, Palm Warbler, E. Towhee, Chipping Sparrow, N. Cardinal, Boat-Tailed Grackle And American Goldfinch



Birds Heard Today:
White-Eyed Vireo, Tufted Titmouse, Carolina Wren And Gray Catbird

Next up:
Bourlay Historic Nature Park, Friday 2-16-07 ( rescheduled from February 2nd which was cancelled due to the tornado), meet in Belk's parking lot 8 AM.
