Bird walk report - Deleon Springs State Park

Date: Thursday, March 23, 2006

A white sky with threatening rain, not great for viewing birds, but the rain held off and we enjoyed a beautiful place. Sorry the azaleas were past their prime. Next time we will try this one about 3 weeks earlier. A great viewing of a Barred Owl and first of the season Red-Eyed Vireos and Black-Throated Green Warbler. Sorry everyone left as we were seated at the Old Mill in 10 minutes for great pancakes. Next year we can plan on taking the boat ride (this is new) through Lake Woodruff NWR.
