Bird walk report -Bourlay Historic Nature Park

Date: Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006

 

A beautiful morn. as 38 folks joined in for our walk at Bourlay accompanied by our local TV guys from VNN. Although the painted bunting was not seen our count totaled 31 species.


Birds Seen Today:


Double-Crested Cormorant, Anhinga, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, Tricolored Heron, Northern Harrier, Mourning Dove, Red-Bellied Woodpecker, Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker, Downy Woodpecker, Northern Flicker, Pileated Woodpecker, Eastern Phoebe, Blue Jay, American Crow, Carolina Wren, Ruby-Crowned Kinglet, Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher, Gray Catbird, Northern Mockingbird, Brown Thrasher, Pine Warbler, Palm Warbler, Black-And-White Warbler, Northern Cardinal, Red-Winged Blackbird, And Common Grackle.


Birds Heard Today:

Red-Shouldered Hawk, Sandhill Crane, White-Eyed Vireo, House Wren And Boat-Tailed Grackle..
