Bird walk report - Blue Springs St Park & St. Johns River by Boat

The birds were out for us on this nice warm day for a boat ride as we logged 49 species including both Night Herons. Also present were 32 Manatee, some napping and some lunching and a quick glimpse of an Otter. Hope you all had a great time.

Birds Seen Today:

Wood Duck, Wild Turkey, Double-Crested Cormorant, Anhinga, American Bittern, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, Snowy Egret, Little Blue Heron, Tricolored Heron, Cattle Egret, Green Heron, Black-Crowned Night-Heron, Yellow-Crowned Night Heron, White Ibis, Black Vulture, Turkey Vulture, Bald Eagle, Red-Shouldered Hawk, Purple Gallinule, Common Moorhen, American Coot, Limpkin, Sandhill Crane, Mourning Dove, Belted Kingfisher, Red-Bellied Woodpecker, Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker, Downy Woodpecker, Northern Flicker, Pileated Woodpecker, Eastern Phoebe, White-Eyed Vireo, American Crow, Tree Swallow, Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher, American Robin, Gray Catbird, Northern Mockingbird, Yellow-Rumped Warbler, Yellow-Throated Warbler, Pine Warbler, Common Yellowthroat, N. Cardinal, Red-Winged Blackbird, Common Grackle, Boat-Tailed Grackle And American Goldfinch

Our first walk of 2007 will be to Sunnyhill on Friday, January 5, meet in Belk's parking lot 8 AM depart 8:15.
